BSIBISSA

BsiBissa is a Siamese female, estimated to be around 1 year old. She is currently a resident of the shelter, and has been with us since May, 2020.

BsiBissa came to Crazy Cat Lady Rescues in the middle of the night when a man knocked on Hajar's door and said his cat was no longer safe in his home because his son was abusing her. Likely as a consequence of the abuse she suffered, BsiBissa was terrified of both humans and other cats for a very long time. She was given her own room in the shelter for months so that she was able to settle and adjust. Thankfully, BsiBissa has started to get more comfortable and has successfully integrated with the rest of the shelter.

BsiBissa is a sweet girl who has been through a lot. She would do well in a quiet home, with adoptive parents who were willing to be patient with her while she gets comfortable with her new environment. Additionally, she would do best as either an only cat, or with another cat who is very peaceful. BsiBissa is very afraid of the outside world, so she must be kept indoor only. We really must stress indoor only. We have seen BsiBissa outdoors and she is terrified to the point of putting herself in danger to escape to somewhere safe.

The name BsiBissa (pronounced Bizi-Beesa) comes from the Arab dessert BasBoussa. BsiBissa is a cuter and smaller derivative meant as a term of endearment.

Update: November 8th, 2022: BsiBissa has come a long way! It took us 8 months to be able to pet BsiBissa. Now, she insists on sleeping in bed with her shelter mom every night, right on her pillow. BsiBissa seems to understand humans. She listens when told not to do something or when asked to come over. Now, she even has cat friends in the shelter! Specifically, Wldi and Petunia. BsiBissa has also discovered her favorite food in the world is chicken hearts and liver. Every time she eats them she gets the zoomies!
